Annabelle the Huge Praying Mantis

She's kind of cute even though she is one Big bug.

Towering over the Chadwick Arboretum on the Ohio State University campus in Columbus, Ohio, Annabelle the praying mantis will grab your attention. Displayed in an OSU garden for the study of phenology, this sculpture is most impressive, and fun.

I did not know what phenology was until now. Thanks, Major!

WOW! This is very cool. I have lots of Annabelles in my yard. When I was a girl, I had a large one that would eat small bits of raw bacon along with meal worms. I don't see really big mantids very often these days.
