Columbine: Lovely Woodland and Meadow Flowers

Columbine means "Dove" and is of the Genus Aquilegia, which means "Eagle".

Columbine are a pretty Spring flower found in woodlands and meadows. It is the state flower of Colorado and adorns many mountain pictures. It is easy to grow in shady, well-drained soil.

    I didn't know Columbine was the name of a flower. I always think of the school – it was delicate too.

    The summer I was in Colorado, I heard the word "columbine" several times, but until I just saw your wonderful photos, I had no idea that the flower looked like.
