Pictures Of An Old Cemetery IV
This has to be one of the most interesting cemeteries that I have been able to photograph
This is the last in a series of photographs that I took at the Old Cemetery in Southampton. For years the graves were just allowed to be overgrown, but now some attempts are being made to restore part of the cemetery.

Post a CommentThanks Sandra. I like my slideshows to tell a story, if they form part of a series and it's possible to do that. Our tour of the Old Cemetery in Southampton led to more slideshows than I expected, but these were definitely enjoyable to put together.
I enjoy exploring old cemeteries, too. I looked at this to get some ideas should I want to arrange the photos I have taken into a slide show. You have some very nice photos here and placed in a way which informs the audience.
I love old English cemeteries. US cemeteries always paled in comparison to me.
great pics! thanks for sharing!
So cool!
That would be a good idea. The same as people sponsoring keeping sections of road clean in the USA. Might make a good social study for the school as well.
I love that they elaborate on the cause of death on these old stones. Couldn't a boy scout troup of a school "adopt" these old cemeteries to keep them up?
I think it looks charming over grown. That can easily be fixed with a goat or two. I have not come across any stinging nettle out here.. but I remember them clearly.
Very unique indeed! Great shots!
