Beautiful.
What a great series of photos. It has been a long time, I realize, since I've seen or heard a woodpecker.
The old Woody Woodpecker himself! I hear these a lot upstate -- that wild and crazy call of theirs.
He is beautiful and amazing!
Great article.
wow, those were AWESOME pictures, i LOVE them! how great, and his a big pecker! ha!
Great shots. I had a smaller type of red-headed woodpecker pecking on my wooden pergola. I didn't want him putting holes in it, so I would knock on the window to scare him. He never cared! He finally went away. Why is is that birds you want around, like cardinals, are so shy and fly off the second you try to take a picture, but others are stubborn?
I've never seen one up close, how cute! Thanks for sharing.
The woodpeckers in Florida, that I've always seen, are so big and usually very shy. Great job getting the shots!
