Snowing in Arizona

Yes, it snows here in the mountains.

When you like to ski, a blizzard is good news. It means a powder day and no competition for the slopes.

Sorry about that injured skier, though. Good to know they have those rescue services and see them in action.

Congrats on being featured. This was a wonderful photo compilation, really gave a sense of how it looked and some of the features of a heavy snowfall.

Doc - Temperature here depends on elevation, and that helicopter was landing at 9,200 feet. The day the photo was taken, the temperature was 11F at 6AM. And our winter temps, even in the low deserts, are cool.

How can it snow in the desert? I never heard of that before!! I live in New Hampshire so 6' high snowbanks or even more is common but in 100 degree temperatures? I have to say I am very confused but the photos are beautiful anyhow. Amazing how something so annoying as snow can be so beautiful isn't it?!!!! LOL!!!!!!!!!
