Staying at a Capsule Hotel in Tokyo
One night at the Green Plaza capsule hotel in Shinjuku, Tokyo
Some photos from my stay at a capsule hotel in the Shinjuku district of Tokyo, Japan. The capsule bed was comfortable, and less claustrophobic than I expected. Staying at a capsule hotel was definitely a unique experience, and something I'd do again.

Post a CommentWow! Reminds me of the bunk in a semi truck (my husband used to drive over-the-road). Not for claustrophobic types, I imagine? Very interesting!
@Kate: No, not that loud. I didn't hear my neighbors or anything. Although it might be a different story on a weeknight with more inebriated businessman staying over
Really, really interesting. I don't think I"d be able to do it, though. Was it loud?
Did you watch the PPV?? *wink *wink
@ST: Price is roughly $40/night. It's quite an experience though - all in the name of cultural immersion ;-D
i don't think you've mentioned how much it cost. does the price really lures you enough to stay in that tomb like sleeping accommodation instead of staying in normal hotel room?
How do they accommodate sumo wrestlers? jejeje
