Step Pyramid, Saqqàrah
The stepped pyramid of king Zoser, 3rd dynasty, Egypt, was built about 2727 - 2717 BC at Saqqàrah. It was designed by Imhotop, the first known architect in history. It was the first monumental royal tomb and the oldest stone structures in Egypt.
