Spring is the time to prune the red raspberry canes and remove dead pieces. Picking the berries is much easier with shortened canes and makes a neater garden area.

    So many kinds of raspberries & other berries here in Virginia. Red raspberry, black raspberry, maple-leaved raspberry, wineberry, dewberry, blackberry, blueberry, gooseberry, and probably others I've forgotten.
