Post a CommentFascinating commentary! I once worked for a sewer plant. I hopped out of my truck and rounded a corner to spot 50-odd vultures near me. It was the first time birds ever actually scared me! I just kept saying to myself, "These creatures don't eat the living..."
I think they are very graceful birds.
We see them all the time flying around in the mountain thermals near our farm. . .not the most beautiful bird but environmentally needed. Great photos!
Awesome pictures! My kids are going to love these when they get home from school!
We love to watch the vultures soar over the desert. I don't know what kind they are, but there are four up there every day.
Useful, big ugly critters. Once, while driving in the country, rounded a corner and two turkey vultures were dining on roadkil. They took off and one flew right at the van's window and over it. His wingspan covered the whole van windshield as he just cleared the roof of the van - big suckers. Nice job Major.
Great pictures and interesting facts. I learned something. I knew 0 about vultures. Thanks for sharing!
Wow, fascinating photos and facts is right! Six hours in the air is a feat in and of itself, but without even flapping their wings? Yikes! I've heard something about urinating on feet that I won't repeat here.
Great pictures... My wife will be interested, too. There was a whole bunch of them roosting in an abandoned shed in the woods but I have a crap camera and couldn't get pics...
