Post a CommentDude! I'm so stoked to see the slide show! My grandmother lived in Venice (519 Rialto Ave) back in the 50's & 60's. This is not how it was, but it was crazy then too. But, still, we were allowed as children to walk by ourselves to the beach playground, which is now gone. As a new mother I enjoyed the Sesame Street clips of the playground always pointing out to my little one's...That's where I used to go all the time...see my pony!
I have not been in a while, but we do have the legal pot ads and places here in Long Beach ~ and controversy about same. It has been unseasonably cold here in Sunny So Cal this winter season ~ hardly hitting 70 degrees. Nights do get cold and not unusual to see pple with sweaters, even in summer time. What makes summer nice is no matter how hot it gets there is usually a nice cool ocean breeze if you get out of direct sunlight it is comfortable.
I love how people are in sweaters and coats - those from harsher climes would think Venice Beach in March to be balmy...
Stevie - there is one shot of Gold's Gym... but it was empty that day.
Thanks for that walk down memory lane. It's been 21 years since I've been to this beach.
No more muscle beach or juggling chainsaws? Or are you just more oriented to shopping?
