Thank you all so much for stopping by. This is, indeed, a beautiful & inspiring monument. My oldest was involved in the Ypres Memorial Parade that was held there a few weeks ago, and I realized how little I really knew about this statue that I walk past on a fairly regular basis. I learned a great deal in creating this slideshow, and I hope I succeeding in reminding some others that our veterans and war dead need our attention still.

Kyla, wonderful slideshow :) I did not know what Cenotaph meant, but it makes so much sense before so many never returned and therefore - the empty tomb. I also enjoyed the woman at the base of the statue with the flags. Beautifully done, cheers :)

Lovely - almost inspiring and a good reminder that Canada is not just a northern extension of the US!
