The Poem Behind the Photo

Deb Martin-Webster
Hidden deep beneath the whites
lurking it unleashes orange mayhem
I search for my dish towel

It mocked me for days
peeking from my wicker laundry basket
plotting it's ambush on my clothing

A cup of beach a cup of detergent
swishing, swirling unnoticed
stowing away from washer to dryer

Here I am fresh and clean yet different
my identity forever a paler hue
amid your dappled-orange white shirts

I think, no I know, most of us have experienced the same thing. i destroyed a beautiful jacket my son had years ago by spraying what I though was spot remover but turned out to be bleach! I rushed to the www and bought another one before it turned out to be too cold.

We usually buy white disk towels so they can be bleached well. Sometimes it's hard to resist purchasing some with designs, plus you get those as gifts. Good job.
