Try to follow up with the attached images while reading this tutorial .

Step#1 :
-Open a new document for example 300 * 200 or the size you will give you the freedom with the text you want to add .
-Make sure that your new document mode in on RGB mode , you will find your new document mode in the view menu > mode then chose RGB mode .
-It will be easy for you to start with little gray background .

Step#2 :
-Add your text , Chose the Text Tool and start adding your word ( I added a PHOTOSHOP word in my case to show you )
-Try to shoes a thick , big and bold Text , this way the text will be have a large area to add the effect and it will look nicer , when you chose a thin text you will have to be more careful with adding this effect so I advice you to try this tip in a thick bold text then you may try it on a thin one .
-Chose a Dark Gray color .
-You can chose : Impact Font . 48 pt or more .

Follow up with the attached image for this step .

Step#3 :
-Select The text Layer , and Add a Layer mask To it by clicking the circle within a square icon at the bottom of the Layers Palette .
-Why adding a Mask to your text ? What the mask do ? well your mask will give you the freedom to edit on your text without actual changes to the text layer , Adding a mask to a layer is equal to adding a multiply or screen mode layer to your text .

Follow up with the attached image for this step .

Step#4 :
-Chose the Brush Tool , Go to the options Bar and click on the Brushes List .
-Keep dragging until you find Chalk Brush type , you may try any type of brunches as you like .
-I prefer to work with Chalk sizes 36 , 44 or 60 .

Follow up with the attached image for this step .

Step#5 :
-Pres D , Or change your foreground color to black .
-Now you will select the text layer with the mask and start hiding some text with the brush you chose .
-If you saw that you hide your text more than you want you can press X then start hide some selections you makes .
-A good tip for this effect is to play with many brushes as you can , It makes it more realistic .

Follow up with the attached image for this step .

Step#6 :
-You are now done , Just add your final touches and your effect is now ready .

Hope you find it cool . until next time .
