- Adding you touch to your product design is the only way to show your work , product design may need more special , light and small touches to reflect your elegant and professional design .
- First you need to open your product in Photoshop , you may need to extract the product from it's background first … so extract it and be ready for the next step.
- After extracting your product , open a new document with a customized size as you want .
- Press D to select the default colors , and make change your background layer to black by filling it , OR just right click on your background layer and select fill , then select foreground.
- Now move your product to your new document over the background.
Take a look at the attached photo .
Step#2:
- With your background selected , chose your foreground and background colors , I recommend black for the foreground color .
- Now select blending options from the layer palette and select GRADIANT OVERLAY .
- Important thing here , in your gradient overlay , Change it's style to radial .
- Now move your scale as you want .
Take a look at the attached photo .
Step#3:
- Now we will add a shadow reflection to the product , with is the car in our case here .
- To add a shadow we need to remove the gradient from the lower quarter of the image , So create a new layer between the product and the gradient background layer , and just fill it with black .
- With your product layer selected , Drag it to the new layer icon in your layers palette Or from layers menu just select Duplicate layers .
- With the duplicated layer selected now , Press Ctrl+T , Or click on Edit menu then select Free transform ,
- Right click on the transformed selection and select Flip vertical .
- Move this layer until it touches the lower end of your product .
- Now we will add the shadow reflection to the flipped car in our case , So with your duplicated layer selected Click on the add Layer Mask button on your Layers palette or go Layer > Add Layer Mask > Reveal All.
- Select the Gradient Fill Tool from the tool box Or just Press G , Now select your default colors by pressing D.
- With your new Layer Mask selected , drag your Gradient from top to bottom until you get a good reflective effect as you may need.
- Now you almost finish , The only thing now is to add you final touch to your product design to make it a bit a life .. May be adding your product name in a good style or a lot of things you may add , actually it depends on the designer mind ….
Take a look at my final mini cooper design .
Until next time , Have fun .
