The Physicians Formula Gel Eye Liner comes in a set of three stackable pots that can be pulled apart for individual use. They also come with a small, stiff, synthetic brush perfect for Gel Liner application. Each pot contains a different color, and each set is customized for your eye color. You can purchase a set for green eyes, hazel eyes, brown, or blue eyes. My eyes are green, but I prefer the colors of the set for brown eyes, as the purple has a bit more oomph to it.
Physicians Formula claims that their Gel Eye Liner is long wearing, smudge resistant, water resistant, and provides twenty four hour definition. I have yet to wear their eye liner for twenty four hours, as I always remove my makeup before bed, but it did seem to last all day (about eighteen hours for me!). Their liner is opthamologist tested, safe for sensitive eyes, and safe for contact lens wearers. It contains no parabens and is fragrance free.
I think the little purple pots are simply adorable, both as a stack and individually. The purple is my favorite, although the black and the brown that came in my set are nice colors, also. I found that the little brush and the gel pots were both easy to use.
The application of Physicians Formula Gel Eye Liner is pretty simple. Just dip the little brush in the pot, wipe off any excess on the edge of the pot, and carefully place the edge of the brush against your lash line. You can carefully dab or drag the brush along your lash base to get a thin, solid line. Its best to err on the side of using too little Gel Eye Liner than to use too much. It is easy to add more liner to your eyes, but a pain if you get too much and have to wash it off and start over.
The Gel Liner is very soft in the pot, unlike some other brands. It was really more like painting a line on my lids than anything. It was very simple, and I didn't need a steady hand like when I apply liquid liner. The brush was easy to control and just the right size. The liner felt nice on my eyes, not sticky, not itchy, or in any way uncomfortable. And I didn't feel like I had to worry about it smudging or running.
I definitely will keep using Physicians Formula Eye Enhancing Gel Cream Liner. It is a nice change from typical waxy pencils or runny liquid liners, and it is easy to apply. It comes in a nice array of colors - just don't be afraid to pick colors other than what the package says you should buy for your eye color. Choose the colors you love and have fun!
