Physicians Should Not Think They Are Gods - Masters of All They Survey
Unlike Other Citizens, Physicians Cannot Escape with the Excuse, "To Err is Human."
What they don't realize is that the President is not the servant of any professional organization, though they themselves think they are gods.
And, have they been "professional" enough in their respect for their own colleagues?
If they were, how come some specialties were purposely undermined so that only a few specialties will only make money?
How come the nation is in dire need of family physicians, while there are cardiologists for every mile of this country?
Still, how many of those super-specialists actually are working in rural environments?
A few years ago, when I went to Ohio to visit my relatives, the talk of the town was about the impending closure of a medical school there, that too in a needy area! Some professionals were trying to close down a medical school, to prevent others becoming doctors and future competitors. What type of human behavior is that?
If the physicians don't want government's insurance, they have every right to do that. Just tell that to the patients. Those patients will find other physicians who will honor government insurance.
But, if any physician thinks that the President needs his permission to evolve national programs, he is in a fool's paradise.
They have every right to disagree with the President. But the President has his own powers to formulate programs which may benefit part or all of the nation, irrespective of whether that benefits me or not as an individual.
The way we saw some physicians openly booing like street-side rowdies, the onus of proving that they are not anti-socials is upon them!
Unlike other citizens, physicians cannot escape with the excuse, "To err is human" if they think they are specially-endowed.
They are Masters In Just One Science Out Of Many Sciences which they don't know anything about. They are not Masters of All They Survey.
President doesn't need to be the "yes" man of anybody just because that guy has two letters appended to his name.
People like I may even demand the establishment of government-run hospitals, as many so-called private hospitals are run using government grants and other indirect financial helps. Some of them in my state downed their shutters when the state help dried up.
At any rate, the people of this nation need not pay for the airplanes some of these professionals buy just for keeping up with the joneses!
