"American Idol" fans were shocked when Toscano was eliminated this week during the competition. Toscano was held in such high regard by many analysts of the show that it didn't seem likely her voyage would end before the final two or three contestants were left standing. Toscano, who will tour with her fellow "American Idol" competitors, will probably be the first contestant ever to have an album already released once she hits that tour.
It will be interesting to see if her new songs will include mostly ballads or more up-tempo songs. Toscano was criticized on "American Idol" for singing just ballads and rarely doing faster songs. So it might just be very ironic if the first single releases has more of a Jennifer Lopez than Celine Dion feel. Which direction is she inevitably headed? The jury is still out on how her record deal will work out and what kind of songs will be written for her.
Her strong suit appears to be the ballad and she certainly is capable of producing Celine Dion type vocals.
But are those the types of songs that will be huge record sellers? It's fun to speculate on the future of Toscano now that she already has an early opportunity to produce songs for the fans she earned while on "American Idol."
The proof is certainly always in the pudding but if anyone on the show this year has the vocals to put out incredibly entertaining and tear jerking music-it's Pia Toscano!
The next big question is will "American Idol" and Pia Toscano rush out to buy her new music? With the music supposedly coming out so fast, it could be an incredible rush job trying to sustain her momentum. The skeptics might say that Toscano wasn't even popular enough to be a top five contestant on Idol-so why would she be able to sell records? I would disagree with those skeptics. Toscano has the pipes and potential to be a huge star-I just hope her career isn't rushed forward so quickly that her songs aren't respected and more importantly enjoyed.

Post a Commenttry listening to her pre idol songs in youtube entitled Shake Her Down, Dont Question Why and Sweet Love. you would be surprised.
Yes, she does have a great voice, but if you read my letter to the American Idol Judges, you'll see that what she's missing is the emotion behind the song to make it really special. If nerves of being on a live stage were her problem, then yes, this could be a good thing since being comfortable and allowing yourself to emote while you sing is easier in a studio than it is on TV.
