Pick 6! the Only Fall Accessories You Need

This season, we're all about recycling. Re-wearing pieces from the last few seasons that is. And nothing puts the life back into last season's clothes like new accessories. Using on-trend accessories is one of the best ways to update your look without breaking your budget. Stock up on a few fall '08 style staples and no one will guess your wardrobe's not new. Here are the six pieces you'll need:

1. Statement Jewelry: It was everywhere during the fall shows. Givenchy paired his tangle of necklaces with clean basic black and Vera Wang's crystal cuffs and necklaces accompanied almost every piece she sent down the runway. The look is big, bold and meant to be noticed. You can easily bring this look into your wardrobe too, at easy price points. Remember to make only one statement at a time; don't distract from the amazing necklace by also adding an amazing cuff. Keep the clothing simple too; let the jewels do the talking. Subversive for Target by Justin Guinta offers some great pieces at excellent prices (get there now! The well-priced capsule collection for Target is now on sale, meaning the pieces will soon be sold out.) or try the Multi Chain Necklace from Forever 21. Mall staple Express is also stocking great, inexpensive cuffs.

2. Booties: If you were smart you jumped on this trend last year. But if you weren't sure if the trend would really stick you'll still have the opportunity to get into some this fall. Shows like Temperly London. Phi, Thakoon and even Tory Burch had their models stomping down the runways in some form of a bootie or shoe boot. This look usually does best in black and can be paired with skinny jeans, dresses or even pencil skirts. Macys, Express, and H&M are great places to scout these out at low prices. Though open-toed booties are huge this season, if you hope to be wearing the shoe for multiple seasons you may want to stick to a more classic look.

3. Scarves: The obsession with wrapped necks started this summer and only makes sense that it would stick around for the cooler fall weather. Thin knits and even T-shirt scarves are layering the necks around LA and NYC. Ethnic prints, solids, even lace are popular. Try Urban Outfitters or American Apparel to find yours for a steal.

4. Look-at-Me Tights: Take a tip from the Chanel runway and try a two toned pair of cold-weather leg wear. The message this season is that your legs can actually be stylish too, so stay away from sheer hose and think opaque instead. These look especially fetching with those great booties. Hue or Look of London both offer tons of choices at easy prices.

5. The Belt:. No need to look any further then Carrie Bradshaw in the Sex and the City movie; she wore the same belt with almost every outfit. (Rumor is she named it Roger.) The fall runways were right in sync with this too; Dolce & Gabbana and Fendi were belting everything from coats and jeans to formal wear. Skinny belts are working right along with their wider sisters to show off the female form. Keep the lines clean and make sure you aren't trying to belt too much material; you don't want to end up with gobs of fabric bunching over or under the belt. H&M and Zara will offer up choices in both the thin and thick at bargain prices, but also check out vintage shops for cool and unique belts.

6. Big Bags: We're not giving you clearance to carry a suitcase here, but fall's all about a bag that is big enough to tote around your stuff. Dior and Burberry Prorsum sent them down the runways from ladylike to country chic. Look for soft leathers that have a shoulder strap or patent leather with structure and a handle. TJMaxx, Marshalls and Target are great places to go searching for the one that best fits your needs.
