You will want to make sure that the family sticks together so that you don't get lost. Some places will have wagons to drag your tree to the station where they will be shaking the pine needles off of the tree. Even by doing this, your tree will still lose a lot of needles. You need to make sure you water your tree at least twice per day. If you do not, the needles will dry out and cause a fire hazard. You do not want the needles to catch on fire from the Christmas lights. It will also lose all of the pine needles if you do not water it enough.
When it comes to picking out a good tree, you will want a tree which is very full. Don't pick a tree which is very sparse or looks as if it's planning on dying soon. Make sure it's a very thick tree because a lot of the needles will fall off of it. You will also want to pick a tree which is a good height. Remember that you will be placing the tree in a stand which will make the tree about one foot higher. You will want to make sure that the tree doesn't look too small in the room or too large for the room.
You will also want to make sure that the trunk is perfectly straight. Take a look at the trunk to make sure that it isn't slanted. If the stem is crooked, your tree will probably fall over and the decorations will break all over your floor. You will also want to make sure that the trunk is not a double trunk. You cannot place a double trunk into a stand and therefore you wont be able to use that Christmas Tree for Christmas. You want a tree which has one straight trunk. You do not want your tree to tip over and break all of your ornaments.
