Curtains made from washable fabrics, such as cotton and polyester, require very little care. These may be a good choice for a child's bedroom since they are easy to care for and most are inexpensive. You can also line cotton curtains to make them fade-resistant if the window gets a lot of direct sunshine. Also, curtains can easily be matched to the decor or theme of the child's bedroom since they come in all kinds of colors, patterns, and textures. One of the disadvantages of curtains is that they do collect quite a bit of dust and if you child has allergies, you may want to consider a different window treatment for their room.
There are quite a few styles of blinds for windows. There are vertical blinds, horizontal blinds, mini-blinds, wood blinds, metal blinds, and fabric blinds. Blinds can be paired with other window treatments such as valances or curtains, or they can be used alone on a window. Blinds can be custom-fit very easily for your window and you can find custom-made designs and patterns online.. Blinds are adjustable which makes it easy to control the light and privacy in the child's bedroom. But, without an addition of a valance or curtains, blinds can look rather dull and sterile for a child's room.
Shades are another option for window treatments in a child's bedroom. Shades are made up of single pieces of fabric or vinyl attached to a roller and operated with a cord or spring mechanism. Fabric shades can be completely flat, pleated or gathered for an added effect. Depending on the type of shade, some can filter out the sun and others can completely block out any sun from coming into the bedroom. Shades come in a variety of colors and styles and you can ever find shades that are custom-made with pictures or designs that you request. They are easy to use to control the light into the room and how much privacy the room has. Just like blinds, shades can be paired with other window treatments such as valances and curtains to add more attention to the window. Shades can be hard to clean, especially cellular shades or other fabric ones that have pleats or gatherings.
Whatever window treatments you pick for your child's bedroom, just remember to properly install them and to match them to the decor or theme of the room. This means that if you have a girl's bedroom in a shades of delicate pinks, you may not want to get blinds that are black for the bedroom.

Great ideas here.
good advice!
I a fan of blinds however in Winter big thick curtains keep out the draft, so this winter I double glazed the window with plastic sheeting, which also required a hair dryer, needless to say the hairs on my head are equally stronger. Great post window instillation is pricey but can save alot of bother, thanks for the post well wrote and nice topic.
