Gameplay
The objective of Pictogrid is to match the pieces on the game board to an image that will appear at the top-left hand side of the screen.
To move blocks around, simply click on the arrows that outline the game board area. These arrows indicate the direction in which the blocks in that column or row will move.
Move all the blocks into the correct slots to copy the image at the top-left hand side of the screen to move on to the next level.
At the bottom-right of the screen, you will notice a number. This value indicates how many clicks you take to complete the level. Try to keep this number to a minimum.
At the bottom-left of the screen, there are a few game details that may be useful to you. First, you have the title of the stage. Beneath that, you have the level that you are currently playing. Below that, you have the best score for that stage.
At the very bottom of the page, you can select levels by clicking on previous or next level buttons. You can also access the main menu, or restart the level, or just undo a step.
As you play through levels, you will notice that the difficulty increases gradually. You will encounter anything from immovable brown pegs to pieces that seem to teleport.
From the main menu, you can also access the Level Editor feature of the game that will allow you to make custom levels that you can play. One other great feature of the game is that it will save all data, including custom levels.
Game Review
Pictogrid is an addicting little puzzle game with a good number of levels of varying difficulty. What really keeps players playing the game, however, is the great selection of audio tracks that play in the background. Not only do they add a great entertainment element to the game, but they also work to keep players playing to hear the next great track. Pictogrid is, therefore, both visually and aurally appealing.
Pictogrid scores a 10/10, mostly for its great selection of tracks. The gameplay isn't too bad either, but it's the music that keeps players tied to this game and coming back for more.
