I have that same tree in my front yard. There are many myrtles in various colors now in bloom throughout my neighborhood here in Fla...The mauve ones remind me of the lilacs I loved back in Boston.
Nice picture of this great looking myrtle, this was my Mother's name. My Father wanted to get one of these for her but could never find one in the UK.

I have about 12 crepe myrtles, a few white, but mostly pinks - now I want a dark red one!
