Pictures: Sharing Some Insights
Where is Your Digital Camera? Are You Using it to Yours and Its Full Potencial?
In all those places I was always interested in meeting the people, the real side of each place not really the places prepared for national or international visitors. It's a personal trend.
Like one time I was in NY for a week, for example, upon returning to Florida I showed some friends my pictures. They were amazed I did not have a single picture of famous the places, you know, the post cards from the big apple everyone visits normally.
Well, I want to visit with the locals and see how they live, how they do their thing. I actually do not have many pictures of a famous place from anywhere in the world. Follow me, if I type at the box of any search device (Alta Vista, Yahoo, Google) "Liberty Bell" I can get, in one place alone, more than 450,000 pictures of that beautiful bell ( from Google: Results 1 - 18 of about 473,000 for libertybell. (0.09 seconds) ).
Now don't take me wrong, I did go to places like that with friends. I observed their reactions, heard about their impressions, pride and the like of that - that was great! I do have some pictures of those moments. They are my treasures.
What I propose here for us to think a bit. In an age of easy digital cameras to use, when it is just so easy to take so many pictures, we should be more selective and really put the cameras to work for us. How many times have you come home from some party or trip and you had 300 some pictures to go through? What did you do with all those images? Well, allow me to guess. You probably ( like I do some times, I confess) downloaded them all from the camera, looked quickly through then and forgot them there. (If not in the memory card without even looking through!)
I have some suggestions: get informed, practice, show your art.
Read about taking pictures, there are some very nice simple texts on the matter of obtaining a better shoot at you disposal on the web, the number is fantastic. We may access one or two and by reading them get to a better level of control. There are texts right here at AC. Lisa Carey "Top Ten Photography Lessons" and by Timothy Sexton "Simple Tips for Taking Better Photos" just to mention two. See, reading only the two of them alone will improve the quality of your work, if nothing, by 60%.
Now, with a mindful view and more control get the easy of digital camera to your favor and experiment, after some time you tell me - or better you show me! Try different angles, try different times and themes. I once went to a friends party and soon noticed there where actually hundreds of cameras around, they did not see it but they were all taking the same shots. Ahrr, no! My friend was really glad with my perception that time. I did render him the most original collection scenes from the party, he told me sometime later.
One more great thing to do is to go around and see other people's production and learn from them. At www.stumbleupon.com toolbar (referred to us by Summer Banks on her video "How to Use StumbleUpon to Generate Topic Ideas Easily!") there is an icon called show me a picture, every time you click on it you get a different link - check this one later http://haha.nu/creative/creative-photos-by-chema-madoz - sure some great creative pictures and ideas.
Let me tell you something, I must confess again, I know nothing yet, I am an amateur and I want to stay like that (just have fun). But I try my image making devices to their and my best, although I care more for content than anything else - check some my filming in the Amazon http://www.youtube.com/user/GlowBrazil .
Down on earth, by improving controls, perspective and objectives I have lowered the number of photos and got better quality instead of quantity. All. that done, in your own pace, it is time to share your art. Use Picasa Web Albums, AC, Kodak Photo Gallery, etc. Let people see and learn with you too, ok? I want to be invited!
