Piercing Name Guide for Parents: Make Sure You Know the Name when Your Teen Asks

Body Piercings Are Such a Huge Trend for 2010-2011

Body piercings are such a huge trend right now, especially for the teens. Last year you didn't hear much about body modifications, now this year 2010 that's all you hear. Some of the hottest piercing trends for 2010/2011 are the lip, belly, hip, septum, tongue, nape, and so on. But what if your a parent who has a teen and comes to you saying "Can I get a Fourchette Piercing?" Do you know exactly what this is? Or will you just say, "Ok, it's your body do what you want?" Being a parent, I think you'd rather know what your child is asking for. This way you have some knowledge and can make your decision from there.

There are so many different piercing names that would probably blow your mind. You have names for almost every body part going, and yes that goes for the male and female genital areas as well. Now I am not a professional piercer however, I do know some of the names, where they are located, and how they can be treated effectively to heal faster.

Fourchette- This is a piercing of the rear labia that requires at least 10 weeks of healing. I don't recommend this type at all. Think about it, what will happen during sex? It could possibly get inserted way up into your vagina, and cause some serious issues.

Triangle Piercing- This piercing passes underneath (or beneath as some would say) the clitoral shaft. For most parents though you might get lucky, because your daughter might ask for this and will not be able to get it anyway. Women have to be anatomically suited for this procedure and have extra skin for the piercing to fit. 90% of girls/women that get this procedure done get it for one reason only. That reason is to enhance their sexual desires. It will allow you to have glorious pleasure behind the clitoris, which is a hard to achieve on many women.

Snug Piercing- The earring is placed halfway down towards the outer rim of the ear. This is a very tender area on the ear that might take longer to heal on some.

Teardrop- This can be placed either above your cheek bone, or underneath the brow. This look can actually be really cute if done on the right person. Pain level is low, and can definitely help make your eyes stand out more.

Then of course you have the more common piercings many know of today such as the earlobe, Tragus, a industrial, Conch, eyebrow, nostril, septum, lip, snake bite, spider bite, Medusa, tongue, tongue web, belly, foreskin, frenum, pubic, vertical hood, labia, Christina, chin, cheek, and even vampire bites. I know there are probably at least 30 more piercing out there I didn't name, but like I said I only know the ones I know.

Ditto Abby and Mona's comments. We skated by with no tats and piercings with our sons (now in their mid 20s) and anticipate no problem with our teen daughter who is still at home. I'm not a SAHM for nothing....

If the situation arose, I would go with Zona's comments! but put a "over my dead body" in there someplace!

Wonderful! I had no idea about some of these.

The best name I can think of is NO and the second one is THEN LEAVE. Those more with their children destroying their body will appreciate this information, I am sure, and a good source of info for their choices.
