Pilates Workout: The Best on DVD

Pilates was first introduced in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates. Pilates focuses on the core postural muscles and teaches awareness of breath and alignment of the spine. There are hundreds of Pilates workout DVDs that have been made since Pilates was first introduced. So, how do you know which Pilates workout is best for you? Well, I've came up with a few of them that I think are absolutely great for people of all ages.

Windsor Pilates Basic 3 DVD Workout Set was developed by Mari Windsor. Mari designed this program to help sculpt your body and to also help you lose weight. This program is fast, fun, and helps to slim your body in it's 20 minute workout. This workout is great for beginners as well as intermediates. With Windsor Pilates, you can feel the difference in your body after just a few sessions. Doctors have also recommended this Workout Set for women who have just given birth. Pilates Weight Loss Workout for Dummies is my absolute favorite Pilates DVD. This workout is great for people who are just starting out Pilates and want to incorporate the techniques. The workout is easy to follow and also gives clear instructions. This DVD adds movements to typical Pilates maneuvers that will help increase your heart rate and have you burning more calories. The instructor in this video, Tracey Thompson is very likable and gives easy instructions that aren't hard to follow. This is definitely the workout of choice for those of us who aren't very familiar with Pilates. This DVD can be bought at discount department stores such as Wal-Mart.

Another great Pilates workout I've found is Pilates: Beginning Mat Workout. This workout system is based on the exercise program founded by Joseph Pilates. This DVD is somewhat of a challenge but will definitely have you feeling better in ten sessions. Within thirty sessions, it's said to give you a whole new body. I've found this DVD to be great for beginners, since it goes slow enough for you to be able to follow the exercises. It also offers detailed instruction on breathing and proper form. If you're looking for a Pilates program to try, regardless if you are just beginning Pilates, or if you are already accustomed to the workout, I would recommend that you try one of these. These DVDs are so easy to follow and I guarantee that you can't go wrong and it wouldn't be a waste of your money or time.
