Pillsbury Doughboy Sightings: Have You Seen Him?

I must admit that I do enjoy watching the Pillsbury Doughboy commercials. I have noticed lately though that he doesn't get poked in the tummy and give his characteristic giggle. That makes me sad. I don't think anyone has identified with the character enough to gain a lot of weight so that someone would poke them in the tummy to hear them giggle...and if they did poke them in the tummy I doubt that they could give that same well loved giggle.

Our youngest daughter enjoys the Pillsbury Doughboy even more. She has Doughboy items in her kitchen that she has collected over the years. She has a Doughboy cookie jar that is quite old and was found in an antique shop. She has kitchen towels and pot holders with the Pillsbury Doughboy on them. She also has an assortment of cooking utensils, serving pieces and magnets with the Doughboy on them. The Doughboy makes her happy and brightens her time in the kitchen. She also likes the Doughboy's giggle.

In any case the article I am writing is about Doughboy sightings. That's right sightings across the country of the Doughboy in places you would never expect to see him. It all began as I was driving from Ohio to Illinois. As I traveled through a small village on a state route I spotted a Pillsbury Doughboy peaking through an upstairs window of a house I was passing. I wasn't really sure at first so later I took my daughter back to drive by the house again. Yes. It was the Doughboy peaking at us through the window. We were delighted to see him.

The picture that is featured with this article is of a handcrafted arbor covered with morning glory vines. Perched on top of the arbor is the Pillsbury Doughboy. I spotted this unique lawn ornament on a rural road outside of Smithville, Ohio. Again I was surprised to see the Doughboy and brought my grandson back with me to take the picture. Later in the summer the morning glories covered the arbor and were beautiful as they bloomed. A hummingbird feeder was hung from the center of the arbor and provided a shady and peaceful place for the hummingbirds to eat. The arbor was constantly overlooked by the Doughboy.

I have encountered several less memorable sightings of the Doughboy. I was just curious how many people include the Doughboy in their house or lawn decorations. Have you seen the Doughboy?
