Pillsbury Garlic Butter Crescent Rolls Review

Amy Brantley
Who doesn't love crescent rolls? Many people serve them during the holidays and during everyday meals. Pillsbury has always been the top brand when it comes to baking these delicious pastries up hot and fresh and their product line has grown over the years. Recently, a couple cans of the garlic butter flavor made it into our refrigerator by accident. We had meant to purchase the regular crescent rolls, but these things happen. I decided to give them a try. After all, what could be bad about flaky crescent rolls with garlic butter?

These crescent rolls are prepared like any other flavor. You unroll the dough and shape each piece into a crescent before placing them on a nonstick or greased cookie sheet. They bake at 375 degrees for 11-13 minutes, or until golden brown. I have to admit that while prepping these rolls, the smell of garlic was already strong in the air.

I hate to say it, but with the first bite, I really did not care for these rolls. The garlic butter flavor reminded me of really cheap garlic bread. You could definitely tell that these rolls were not made with fresh garlic and that even the flavoring that was used was not high quality. The more bites I took, the more I disliked these rolls.

A serving of Pillsbury Garlic Butter Crescent Rolls is 1 roll. This serving contains 110 calories, 7 grams of fat, 2 grams of saturated fat, 0 grams of trans-fat, 0mg of cholesterol, 260mg of sodium, 11 grams of carbohydrates, 0 grams of fiber, 1 gram of sugar and 2 grams of protein. For my fellow Weight Watchers members, that's a PointsPlus value of 3.

I have to give this product 1 out 5 stars and cannot recommend this flavor under any means, even if you love garlic. I recommend sticking with the original flavor or the regular butter flavor. If you want a garlic flavor, make your own garlic butter and spread it inside the original rolls before shaping. You could also brush melted garlic butter on top. Either way, you'll get a much better flavor.

LOL, enjoyed your fantastic review! :-) Sadly, many things with garlic do overdo them...oh, well. I do love most things Pillsbury. Thanks for letting us know about this product.
