Pin the Tail on the Easter Bunny Craft Kids Can Make

Fun for the Whole Family

Ann Siper
This is a great craft project the kids can make for Easter. Everyone knows how to play pin the tail on the donkey, so this should be a fun game for the entire family to enjoy. This craft project is made out of felt, so it should last for years to come. Simply roll it up and store it away with the rest of your Easter Bunny crafts!

To Make a Pin the Tail on The Easter Bunny Craft Project You Will Need

1 Yard of Pastel Purple Felt

1 Yard of White Felt

Small squares of pastel colored felt like blue, green, red, black, and white

Fabric glue

No sew

2 3-foot wooden dowels

2 eyehooks

Twine

A self Adhesive Velcro

Large white pom poms

Needle and thread

Scissors

Lay out your purple felt on a flat work surface. Cut it out to 3 feet wide and three feet tall.

Fold over the top two inches of the fabric. Use no sew to sew this down the entire length of the top of the felt. Repeat this on the bottom of the felt. Fold up the top two inches and use no sew to sew it down. You are basically creating a pocket for the dowel to slide through. Don't just hem the edge, make a pocket.

Use a handsaw to cut your dowels to three feet long each.

Take one dowel and twist in an eyehook in each end. This will be the top dowel and how you hang your pin the tail on the Easter Bunny game.

Cut out one large circle out of the white felt. It should be 2 feet in diameter.

Cut a small circle out of the white felt. It should be about 6 inches in diameter.

Glue the large white circle to the middle of the pastel purple felt panel with fabric glue. You could also use a no sew product for this. If you like to sew feel free to use a sewing machine.

Glue or sew the smaller white circle to the top left of the big circle. The big circle will be the bottom of the Easter Bunny, where the tail goes. The smaller white circle will become the head of the Easter Bunny looking back over its shoulder! Too cute!

Cut out details like an eye, paws, and even whiskers out of your other colorful felt fabric. Have fun make some large eyes that look surprised. Definitely add some white felt feet. Eyebrows would be cute too.

If you have enough felt cut the words "Happy Easter" out and glue them one the orange felt as well.

Now, take the rough side of your Velcro and sew it to your large white pom poms. To do this put the Velcro a few inches up toward the middle of the pom pom. Use a needle and thread to go through the pom pom and through the Velcro piece. Continue wrapping the thread around until it feels secure. Repeat this process with at least 10 feathers.

You can buy large colorful pom poms at almost any arts and craft store. If for some reason you cant find any then cut some fluffy tails out of colorful construction paper. Laminate it and then stick the rough side of the Velcro on the fluffy Easter Bunny tails.

The rough side of the Velcro will stick to the Easter Bunny tail, but the soft side will not, so save that for another craft project.

Slide your top dowel with the eyehooks through the top pocket of your craft project. Tie your length of twine to each end and hang your Pin the Tail on the Easter Bunny game eon the wall. Slip the other dowel in the bottom pocket to give the piece some weight.
