Pine Cone Holiday Craft

Holiday Craft

If you are like many of us working moms, finding crafts for the holidays to do with the kids can be tiresome. During the holidays, crafts are a great way to keep kids active, make gifts for family and friends, and just have fun. Here is one craft that will keep your little one active, and give you decorations in the process.

Materials:

· Pince cone

· String

· Regular washable craft paint

· Paint brush with bristles

· Glitter

· Optional: Cake decorating silver balls or tinsels

Instructions:

First you want to tie the string to the pine cone. Little hands can help with this. Then you want to paint the pine cone by brushing the brush into the pine cone. This may be messy so have a newspaper out so extra paint doesn't mess up your table. Now you want to sprinkle glitter on the wet paint and add whatever decorations you would like. This is where you can let your little one get creative. Let their fingers have fun with the paint and the glitter! Let Dry.

Notes:

This make great gifts for teachers, aunts, uncles, grandparents!

Another idea after you've done the pine cones would be to put them in a basket and set on your kitchen table, on a coffee table, or anywhere were they will be seen.

I have plenty of cones compliments of our pine trees. I could do this craft project with my grandkids- thanks!

So are there many pine cones around your part of Florida? In the mountains above LA, there are really quite a few to collect and decorate.

My kids did a similar craft years ago and we still pull the cones out and hang them. It is a great craft. Good article.
