Yummy Food Memories

When I think back through my favorite food memories, I think back to a wonderful cook book that I was given as a wedding shower gift back in 1987. The woman who hosted this shower was from my church. She invited all the church ladies that also included my mother. The woman's name was Mrs. Worley. She was my little brother's Sunday School teacher.

Mrs. Worley made us a delicious brunch. After the brunch, she presented me with a little artificial tree. On each branch of the tree was attached a recipe card holding the favorite recipe of each woman present. Mrs. Worley also presented me with some cooking tools, an apron, and a copy of this recipe book, even though it was not my church at the time. Little did we guess that years later, my parents would make the decision to make Broad Street Methodist Church their church home for their remaining golden years. This was long after Mrs. Worley and a couple of other older ladies had passed.

Of all the recipes I found in this book, the one I enjoyed making and eating the most was this one. I enjoy zucchini anyway. I also really like pineapple. But combining these two food items together made a most delicious combination. Making it even better, this recipe is one of the easiest recipes I have ever found to make.

I remember back in 1981, I moved into a new apartment in St. Louis with a former college roommate. As we were both moving in our furniture, I found time to whip up this recipe for us to enjoy as a thank you gift to the guys who helped us make this move.

My whole family enjoys this recipe. My little niece, who would never be caught eating zucchini in real life, was caught stuffing large handfuls of this bread into her mouth. Several other people who shudder at the thought of eating zucchini found this recipe to really suit their palate. So, this recipe is not only good for you, it is tasty to boot. Perhaps you, your friends, and family members will feel the same way. Enjoy!
