Pink Bedroom Ideas for Girls of All Ages

Jennifer Wagner

Decorating a girl's bedroom can be time consuming and expensive. That's because as girls age, their personal taste and preference change significantly. Fortunately, pink is a color that most girls like, so it can be used to decorate a bedroom in a variety of themes. By painting a room pink, you are keeping your options open to different stages of their lives. Here are several different decorating ideas for a girl's bedroom. To illustrate how versatile a pink bedroom can be, we've started at toddler age and worked our way up to teen.

Pink Bedroom Ideas for Toddler Girls

Ballerina - Every little girl wants to be a dancer, especially a ballerina. Decorate the room with pink ballerina bedding and simple accessories to match.

Disney Princesses - Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, and other popular Disney Princesses are available on bedding sets in virtually any store, and they all match well with the color pink.

Strawberry Shortcake - With different shades of pink in the room, and adorable Strawberry Shortcake stuffed animals, your little girl can have the bedroom of her dreams. Pair the room with frilly white curtains to break up all that pink!

Princess - She's your little princess, and she'd love a princess-themed bedroom to match. Look for self-stick adhesives with the word 'Princess' in big, bold lettering. Place it over her headboard and look for bedding and other accessories with tiaras, crowns, and princess wands.

Pink Bedroom Ideas for School Age Girls

Barbie - Barbie Dolls may have changed a lot over the years, but they never go out of style. The color pink is the perfect backdrop for a Barbie themed girl's room. Look for bed-in-a-bag sets that feature the Barbie logo, and line white wooden shelves with all her favorite dolls.

Butterflies - The butterfly is a symbol of change and growth, but your little girl doesn't know that. All she knows is they're cute to look at and fun to chase. Decorate your little girl's bedroom with colorful pink, purple, yellow, and mint green butterflies.

Baseball - Not all little girls are into dolls and other cute things. Some of them like sports too! Decorating a girl's bedroom with a pink 'girl-power' baseball theme is unique, fun, and a great way to show your support for her love of the game.

Hugs and Kisses - In this theme, it's all about the X's and O's. Repeat the pattern on bedding, curtains, accent rugs, and on artwork you place on the walls.

Hello Kitty - As a little girl, you may have had a Hello Kitty bedroom. She's still in style, and her décor is available all over the world. Hello Kitty is nostalgic, yet youthful - Classic, yet fresh. Plus, she's pink!

Pink Bedroom Ideas for Tween and Teen Girls

Polka dots - They're non age specific and completely nondescript, making polka dots a popular choice for teen girls. Large ones, small ones, or a mix of both, add a splash of color and texture to a pink bedroom.

Paint splashes - Otherwise known as brush strokes, paint splash designs are a popular decorating theme for teens and young adults. They are artistic, colorful, and suitable for both boys and girls.

Hibiscus - The large, showy, flowers on the Hibiscus plant are often thought of as being the flower of Hawaii. They are colorful, warm, and pretty to look at. Tween and teen girls often decorate their rooms around the Hibiscus flower for a tropical look.

Flip flops - Flip flops are casual, cool, and beachy. Flip flop bedding can be accented with pink walls, warm accent rugs, and beach themed framed artwork.

Zebra - Hot pink and zebra prints have been popular for years. They're edgy, bold, and a fun bedroom theme for girls. Black and white zebra bedding is all the rage right now, especially when paired with feminine pink accessories.

Pink Bedroom Ideas for Any Age

By sticking with solid colored bedding and décor, you'll be decorating a girl's bedroom that will look stylish and be functional for many years to come. Dual color combinations that look great together include:

- Hot Pink & Black
- Soft Pink & Chocolate Brown
- Pink & Purple
- Light Pink & Light Blue
- Pink & White
