Pink Wedding Reception Table Ideas that Cut Costs Not Class

Tamara McRill
Brides looking for pink wedding reception table decorating ideas don't have to sacrifice their budgets to have an elegant and classy wedding. The constant popularity of pink as a wedding color ensures that many decorating options are available are lower price points. These decorations can be pulled together to create a simple, yet stunning wedding reception tables.

Pink Wedding Reception Centerpiece Ideas

One of the most gorgeous ways to save money on pink flowers for wedding reception tables is to go with submerged centerpieces. Purchase a few stems of your favorite pink flowers per vase. It looks more sophisticated to use the same type of flower in a vase, but don't be afraid to use a different kind of flower in the next vase, to make a grouping. Three smaller vases, of alternating heights, grouped will have the same impact, but be less costly, than on large vase. Use glass vases, preferably cylindrical or rectangular. Add glass pebbles to the bottom of the vase and insert pink flowers. Make sure the blooms stagger in height. Fill with sparkling water for a flat, clear look or tap water for a few fun bubbles.

Pink wedding receptions are perfect for romantic candle table centerpieces. Go to a discount store and look for table-top votive stands that have some height. These should cost around $5 each. The height of the stand will save you from purchasing more flowers to achieve the same height. Set the votive holder in shallow flower bowls ($1, Dollar Tree stores). Add pink flowers to the flower bowl.

Layer Pink on Reception Tables

Layering your decorating elements will keep your pink wedding reception tables balanced. Do this by alternating your pink hues with clear glass or another color. This will allow your guests' eyes a chance to rest and appreciate decorations, instead of overwhelming them with a huge serving of pink.

Start in the center of the table with the centerpiece color and work towards each chair. Centerpieces should be the boldest statement on your table. Flowers should at least match the deepest color of pink you are using, but feel free to add other shades for a richer look.

Next incorporate glass or other wedding color elements. Place the centerpiece on a mirror and set small glass votive holders at each corner of the mirror. This will highlight and add sparkle to your centerpieces. Sprinkle rose petals, the same brightness of your napkins, around the mirror and votives. Hues don't have to match exactly, but tone should.

At the top of each place setting, add a small pink votive holder. Dollar an item stores carry a variety to choose from. Choose fuchsias or hot pinks that will match the darkest shades of your flowers. Add your glassware right below these.

Now add folded napkins that compliment the color of your rose petals.

Alternating Pink Linens

To keep the look of your pink wedding reception tables fresh, alternate tablecloth colors. This looks the best with round reception tables. Stick to two different types of tablecloths. Choose half in light pink and the other half in dark pink. Keep an eye out for sales. Since you are using fewer of each color, it will be easier to find the right number of linens on discount.

Purchase or rent napkins in the same two pink colors. If the colors are not available, use the same pink or complimenting color for all place settings. Too many variations in color will make your reception tables look cheap and thrown together.

If using chair ties, make them the same pink color as your napkins. This will help with the reception decor look cohesive. Another tip for saving money on chair sashes is to only use one every other chair. For this to look right, each table should have an odd number of chairs. Using sashes sparingly will keep wedding reception tables from appearing too frilly, but still add something special to the overall presentation.
