Pioneer KURO PDP-501FD: Plasma High Definition Redefined
I Review the Excellent Pioneer KURO PDP-501FD Plasma Television for Buyers
Pioneer has developed a new technology that they put to good use with the Pioneer KURO PDP-501FD. It is actually a new cell structure with a crystal emissive layer that makes the blacks incredibly deep for a plasma television. It makes HDTV signals look beautiful from satellite connections, cable boxes, or high definition discs. XY Color support is also available on the Pioneer KURO PDP-501FD, which makes it ahead of the curve in technology.
Connectivity is certainly not limited on the Pioneer KURO PDP-501FD either. There are four HDMI 1.3 ports, two component video ports, s-video, three composite video ports, and one PC port. USB is supported so that you can look at your photographs on screen. There is a stereo analog monitor output and an optical digital audio output. A subwoofer pre-amp output and headphone jack make the Pioneer KURO PDP-501FD ready for nearly anything.
Well lighted rooms can make it difficult to enjoy the picture on a plasma screen, but the Pioneer KURO PDP-501FD includes an effective anti-glare screen that gets rid of most of the problems. You also get quite a few options that will give you different ways to protect your Pioneer KURO PDP-501FD from burned in images that happen with some kinds of video or gaming content.
If all of the above features weren't enough, the Pioneer KURO PDP-501FD is simply a beautiful picture to watch. The high definition content is remarkable, and standard definition content is displayed relatively well too. The ASIC video processor and scaler makes sure that the image displayed is the best quality possible, no matter the source. The 3:2 pulldown and PureCinema 3:3 features completely do away with the jagged digital leftovers that so many high definition televisions suffer from when playing high definition movies.
There are several options to allow you to configure the Pioneer KURO PDP-501FD to fit your environment and preferences. You can choose to use the picture-in-picture technology, and you have complete control of aspect ratio. Contrast, brilliance, and color can also be manipulated easily.
You may find plasma high definition televisions on the market that sport lower prices, but there are none that provide the same quality of programming and technology as the Pioneer KURO PDP-501FD.
