What I heard before I went was that there was a pirate ship inside. I also heard that they had games similar to Chuck E Cheese, but that they would also have a seperate area for adults to eat without screaming children running around. None of this was EXACTLY correct.
There IS a "pirate ship" inside. A partial one. Kids can climb and play and SLIDE!! My two year old loved it. There are also games in the back, some similar to Chuck E Cheese, such skee ball, and they do give tickets to redeem for prizes. There is no where near the quantity of Chuck E Cheese. Gratefully, there is no music on stage. Gotta love that. However, if they were looking for a place for adults to eat in peace, they missed the mark. It is no where near as loud as Chuck E Cheese, but that may be because it isn't as crowded. There are televisions to watch to tune them out.
The staff are very nice. Any time you speak to any of them, they are pleasant and knowledgable, and I definately give them a thumbs up. It has to have some of the best service I have seen in a while.
The pizza only comes in one size- 18 inches. It's also not that good. The crust tastes like the store bought crust, not home made, and the sauce doesn't seem to have much in the way of spices. It seems like plain tomato sauce. It really doesn't taste a lot different from some frozen pizza. My kids didn't even really care for it and they eat the cheapest frozen pizza available. You can buy it by the whole 18 inch pizza, or you can buy it by the slice. The salad bar is minimal and costs and extra $2.50. There is very little on it, and doesn't seem like much thought was put behind it. $2.50 is also way too expensive. There is no buffet, like most pizza places in town (who also include the salad!) There is a soft serve ice cream machine, but it is also an extra $2.50, so it is hardly worth it, especially since most restaurants in town with such a machine out in the open like that include it in the price of the meal.
The plates are styrofoam plates, the "napkins" are paper towels on a spindle by the drinks. There is nothing remotely fancy about the place. My husband calls it the redneck Chuck E Cheese. I was also disappointed to find that they include NO tokens in your meal. Not one. You purchase each and every one of them.
I hear that they have sub sandwiches that I did not try, but unless my kids really throw a fit to go back, I probably won't. The kids DID have fun and if that is what you are looking for, that's a place to do it. They are probably banking on the fun factor to keep it up and running. The food, not so much. It is really more expensive than it is worth, especially if you purchase all the "extras". All in all, I would skip it.

Post a CommentI am reading the comments on pirates pizza, although they seem to have been posted a while ago, just thought I'd add. I have recently been in there & they seem to have added many games. I agree the pizza is not the best, but it's atleast somewhere to take the kids. As for the red neck chuckie cheese comment, maybe they're just trying to cater to this towns population. Hats off to someone for even attempting to open a business in Hopkinsville!!!
I'm right there with ya.
I definitely agree with you. The people were nice enough, but the pizza was not that great, and the games were not worth my time, nor my kids time. My 4 yr old had a hard time with the games, she was too big to play on the slide. Well, maybe not too big, but how many times can you get excited about climbing up the stairs and sliding down the slide? The games were all too big for her. She had to have a stool for most of them, which there was only ONE of. The prizes weren't that great either. Candy... hmmm, I could have gone to the store and got a bag of dum-dums for the price I paid to play the games to get tickets! Another thing I was not impressed with, was the kitchen, it was all open. Right next to the games. I thought that was kind of strange. It was not closed off at all. I was not impressed, and will not go back. I don't see this place staying in business long.
