Pittsburgh Horror & Film Festival: Three Days of Blood, Gore and Mayhem

Miss Fortune
Even though Halloween is still over five months away you can get your fill of serial killers, axe toting maniacs and psychological thrillers at the 2011 Pittsburgh Horror & Film Festival. The dates for this event are June 3 '" 5 at the Monroeville Convention Center. It's not clear if there will be a total of four screening rooms running the entire time of the event but that's what they are hoping to pull off. Saturday night proves to be one of the most appealing parts of the event with an over-21 Masquerade Ball.

Who is attending? According to the latest website update Lynn Lowry (The Crazies), George Kosana (Night of The Living Dead), Fred Williamson (From Dusk Till Dawn), Antone Diteo (Day of The Dead) and William Forsythe. These are just some of the special guests; there will be others including stars and production companies doing Q & A sessions as well as the running of non-stop films through the entire event. Visit the official PHFF website here.

Visit the "Pittsburgh Horror & Film Festival" Facebook page to view trailers of some of the films and shorts that will be shown. Some of the recent additions include "The School In The Woods", " Lucifer's Unholy Desire", "Hike", "The Infected", "Worm", "Psycho Killer Bloodbath" and "The Italian Zombie Movies". Most of these are run through YouTube and play flawlessly. Find their page here.

Admission prices are extremely reasonable ; single day tickets are $20.00 with a weekend pass for $30.00. It is being held at the Monroeville Convention Center (209 Mall Boulevard). If the name sounds familiar it might be because it was featured in the 1978 "Dawn of The Dead" as well as the yearly Zombie Walk / Walk of The Dead. Not to brag but Pittsburgh does have a certified Guinness World Record for largest gathering of zombies with 1,028 undead in attendance.
