Light Up Night in Pittsburgh
Where: Downtown Pittsburgh
When: Friday, November 16th
Hours: Activities start at 11:00 am
Ring in the holidays Pittsburgh style with their annual Light Up Night in downtown Pittsburgh. Over 100,000 attend each year for the festivities, including the lighting of the many trees, concerts, city shopping, window displays, and more. Kids can enjoy inflatables, booths, games, and good food, as can the adults! Be sure to check out the super heroes stage while you're there, and take in the hundreds of sights and sounds, either from downtown, Station Square, or Mount Washington. A huge fireworks display ends the festivities for the night. See all the beautiful buildings lit up to perfection against the beautiful skyline that makes up Pittsburgh, PA.
Overly's Country Christmas
Where: Westmoreland County fairgrounds in Greensburg, PA
When: November 14th through January 4th
Hours: 5:30-10:00 pm from Sunday thru Thursday, 5:30-11:00 pm Friday through Saturday
Cost: $8 a car or van, $10 for a minibus, limo, or extended passenger van
Come and enjoy over 15 acres of over 1.7 million twinkling lights on the Westmoreland county Fairgrounds. Harry Overly began decorating his house with just a little bit of decorations and it has since evolved into the spectacular display that it is today. You can drive thru the display in the warmth of your car, and you can also get out and walk around. Enjoy singing carols and hot chocolate around a bonfire, or take a horse-drawn wagon or sleigh ride.
Hartwood Acres Celebration of Lights
Where:Hartwood Acres, Indiana Township
When:November 17- January 8(including Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day)
Hours:Sunday through Thursday, 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve hours are 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Cost:$12 donation per carload. Buses are $3 per person (non-profit) and $5 per person for profit organizations.
Come on in to Hartwood Acres and take a breathtaking 3.2 mile drive through an amazing amount of lights and holiday displays. Over 400 holiday light displays can be seen along the way, and you never have to leave the warmth of your own car. Over two million lights burn throughout the holiday season, illuminating displays anywhere from 3 feet to over 40 feet tall. The Hartwood Celebration of Lights helps The Salvation Army's Project Bundle Up with the suggested donations made from their guests.
