Pity

Miss Your Chance

Dan Li
I got an email from university of California, Berkeley, where a professor showed an interest in my major (medical science) at a postgraduate level and my resume (that I sent to him a couple of months ago). He told me that he was pleased to say that I would have an opportunity to talk to him at some due time. Plus, he would be attending our 2008 event on the 10th November in my town, keening to set up a meeting with me before the event to discuss their Masters/PHD options. It was supposed to be great news. However, I had been so busy these days that I didn't check my yahoo email!

Oh, gosh, what a big pity! You know what? I was supposed to appreciate the chance so much! However, the email that you sent to me was in my spam, which was weird somehow! It was but last minute; I noticed that there were too many junk mails right over there and just found the email that was unread in it!

I guess the only thing that I should blame is my yahoo messenger! Wait a minute, I don't mean that there is something wrong with the yahoo company, software, or something. Sometimes, one would possibly blame everyone and everything but oneself since he or she doesn't even have a choice to express the discontent in another way!

Life is meant to be like this! People definitely fail to catch tons of precious things without their noticing! I am not so sure about me that I could get the offer directly from the professor! At least, the hard-won lady luck, which is once in a blue moon, should be grasped! It is too late for regrets! What shall I do then? There is a saying! Chances favor the prepared mind. I am ready, but...

It is breakfast time now! Notwithstanding, I have no appetite even though I am thirst for food now! After all, just as the saying goes, yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift, that why it is called the present! It is time for me to forget everything now. Destination still waits, doesn't it? Let me employ the emotional readjustment and refresh myself! When I wake up the next morning, there will be a brand new day opening for me again! I believe and pray tomorrow will be better and better. I won't always miss things!

You can waste your life, drawing lines, or, you can live your life crossing them. But here's what I know. If you're willing to take the chance...the view from the other side is spectacular.  View profile

At times it is better to let things go without acting quickly. Wishing you the RIGHT opportunity. Roberta Baxter
