Why would you want Pixie Bob kittens? What would you say if you had a kitty that was somehow a cross between a kitten and a puppy dog? No just kidding, these are not crossed with dogs, but they have many characteristics similar in nature. Pixie Bob kittens can easily learn to walk with a leash just like a dog. Many pet owners love dogs just because they can interact and play ball together. You can play ball with Pixie Bob kittens too. Incidentally, they also love to play in water. In most ways, Pixie Bobs look like and for the most part act like a kitten or a cat, but these inquisitive pets love to interact with people just like dogs.
Pixie Bob kittens were first registered with The International Cat Association in 1994 and if you're interested, you can even show them. Just what do Pixie Bobs look like? Cute says it all. Pixie Bobs are bred to look just like bobcats. If you have ever seen pictures of bobcats, you'll remember how intelligent, smart and cunning they look. Pixie Bob kittens are smart as can be and very inquisitive, which makes a great pet.
Pixie Bobs come in both short and long-haired varieties. Both types have the characteristic thick tufts of long black hair that peek out from the inside of their ears. They all have striking facial markings of a bobcat. Many domestic house cats weigh in at about 10 pounds. Mature Pixie Bobs are 12 to about 22 pounds for males and females are 8 to 12 pounds.
You might find it interesting to learn that Pixie Bobs have on average six or seven toes on each of their feet. Whereas, most domestic house cats have five toes on their front feet and four toes on the rear feet. Body colors vary according to breeding adults, but many Pixie Bob kittens have rust, golden, brown and fawn colors with stripes and or spots over the sides, bellies or lower legs. Another characteristic that is highly unusual for domestic cats are short tails that can be 1 to 6 inches in length. Overall, Pixie Bob kittens and cats have a stocky frame and are very muscular.
Pixie Bob kittens will mature into beautiful, healthy looking cats that can live to the same average lifespan as any other house cats. Pixie Bobs vary in color, sizes, appearance and range in costs of $500 to about $1500. Show quality Pixie Bobs cost a bit more.
