All of your favorite flavors are there from cherry, blueberry, grape, and orange, amongst more. They come in different sizes, from the normal, smaller ones to the Giant Pixy Stix. Honestly, for me, the small ones work fine but if you're looking for an intense rush with loads of sugar, get the giant ones.
As for a downfall for the smaller candy, any moisture hitting the paper will clump the sugar together immensely ruining your taste glistening experience. Aside from that, Pixy Stix are a great treat for anybody!
If you have children in your family, ranging from your own, to niece's or nephew's, then Pixy Stix can be a great present for them. The powered candy can have a profound affect on them, so beware; they may bounce off the walls afterward!
Pixy Stix have a selling power around times like Halloween, where the candy is a popular treat for trick or treating children. The candy is usually dipped into the mouth within seconds after opening, the best way to experience the delight. As for the ingredients, they are pretty basic, including: Dextrose, Citric Acid, less than 2% Artificial and Natural Flavors.
Safe directions are usually followed with use of the candy, but a popular dare amongst American students, is to pour out the powder and simulate cocaine by inhaling it through a straw. This should never be tried, as it could have adverse effects on the individual.
They are sold at various places ranging from Gas Stations, to snack bars. The candy is most popular with children, but plenty of adults love to enough it also. Pixy Stix were previously made by Sunline which began in 1952 in St. Louis, Missouri. Originally the powder was marketed as a flavored drink mix named Frutola, but after realizing that the children were eating the product out of the packaging, they took a different route with their sale that ended up creating a major classic candy. The great product is also the same powder used in other classics such as Lik-m-Aid, that is packaged with an edible candy straw used for dipping. You can find the compressed powder in the form of Sweetarts!
Pixy Stix were eventually sold to Roundtree Mackintosh in UK, who in turn, sold it to the Nestle corporation, which was recently turned over to the ever loved Wonka brand name.
Joining the ranks of Nerds and other popular Wonka candies, Pixy Stix are sure to be around for the long run in the candy competition. Go to stores today, and show your kids the good side of sugar, or enjoy a quick and tasty flavor in a packet for yourself!
