For the most part drivers and not allowed to carry weapons but there are some exceptions. A lot of deliveries take place at night and this presents a prime opportunity for a robbery to take place.

If you make a substantial amount of deliveries then you stand to make decent money. The weekends are really busy. If you have enough deliveries the weekend can prove to be quite profitable.
Flexibility
There is a certain amount of flexibility with a job of this source. Sometimes you can work full time or part time. You may be able to choose the hours you work. Your schedule may be set up so that you are able to take a day off in the middle of the week or on the week end. If there a quite a few drivers chances are scheduling time off will not be a problem.
Car
As a driver you will put a substantial amount of mileage on your car. There will be a lot of wear and tear on your car. Your maintenance expenses will probably increase as well which includes oil change, tires, and tune ups. There is always the risk and danger of having an accident. There have been reports of delivery drivers going to apartment complexes for a delivery only to find that their car had been towed. This can be a major inconvenience. If there is a traffic jam your delivery could be late and a customer may become angry or frustrated. You have to stay within the speed limit otherwise you could receive a ticket for a moving violation.
If you decide to take a job as a pizza delivery driver you have to weigh the good with the bad and decide whether this is the opportunity for you.
