Pizza Lasagna Recipe

Leanne Bloms
My family are huge fans of pizza. We all are picky eaters but we all can agree on something, pizza. I have been coming up with several recipes for years that have to do any with pizza. One of our favorite things to eat is something that I call pizza lasagna. It is super easy to make and it is so filling. This is one dish to happily feed a crowd.

Here is a list of ingredients you will need to make this recipe:

1lb or 1 1/2lb hamburger
Two cans of Ragu traditional pizza sauce
(1) 8oz package finely shredded mozzarella cheese
(2) 8 oz package finely shredded Colby jack cheese
¾ package lasagna noodles

The first step is to brown the hamburger. Make sure as you are browning the hamburger that you chop it up into little pieces. At the same time you can prepare your noodles in a pot. Heat a pot of water to a boil and add your lasagna noodles. You can tell when they are done when they are flexible. Once your hamburger is browned and the noodles are cooked, you are ready to assemble the pizza lasagna.

Grease a 9x13in pan. Cover the bottom of the pan with noodles. Apply a small layer of pizza sauce on top of the noodles. Sprinkle 1/3 of the hamburger on top of the sauce. Finish the layer with ¾ of a bag of Colby jack and ¼ of a bag of mozzarella. Repeat these steps three times. One the last layer, use up the remaining cheese.

After you assemble the lasagna, you can either bake it immediately at 350 degrees for 25-35 minutes, until the edges of the cheese melt and brown, or you can cover and refrigerate it until later when ready to cook. I love to make it in the morning so that I don't have to spend a lot of time around dinner when we are hungry.

The best part about this recipe is that it is so versatile. We have made several variations of this recipe and added different pizza toppings. It all depends on what your crowd likes best!
