The pizza style is your standard thickness, with a semi-oily crust. It's nothing special, but not bad either. Most importantly, they actually cook it right with regards to time and temperature. A lot of pizza shops in downtown San Francisco rush their pizzas through the oven, leaving gooey lukewarm cheese and soggy crust. That crap is gross and I refuse to return to a place that serves me up a slice like that. In a number of trips, Pino hasn't yet let me down on that count.
You can place an online order with them at eat24hours.com for pick-up or delivery, and they're open until the clubs let out around 2 or 3 a.m. most nights. Though the pizza is pretty good, there's actually a pretty robust menu of other stuff that they serve. Appetizers include a soup of the day, hot wings, jalapeno poppers, mozarella sticks, garlic bread and french fries. There's a pretty good selection of salads and pastas - lasagna, spaghetti, ravioli and tortellini. They also serve up paninis and hot deli sandwiches toasted up in the oven. There's a couple of daily specials as well, if you walk in - 2 slices plus a soda for $5.50, or a burger and fries for $5.
There's a few pizza joints in this immediate area, but they're all pretty much the same deal - decent slices, same prices, same sizes, and they all deliver and stay open late for the club-going crowd. Honestly, one's as good as another for the most part, but I haven't yet been let down by Pizza Pino any time of day. Nothing outstanding, but it's a fairly safe and solid bet.
