Pizzamerica is a restaurant located on Hillsborough street in Raleigh. I worked at a bar and often got off late after 12 hour shifts without having eaten anything that day. There were not many places open that late. The only ones I knew were the Waffle House, and the Dunkin Donuts on Capital Blvd. I didn't have a car to drive to Waffle House every night and would often get harassed by the late night staff of the Waffle House so I really wasn't happy to eat there after awhile. Eventually, I found out about CampusFood.Com and found late night food delivery since I was near the campus of a local community college.
I found a few places. One of the restaurants I patronized was Pizzamerica. I was very impressed with this place. The food was REALLY good at 4 am. I ate their wings, paella shrimp, baked ziti, chicken parmesan, garden salad and Greek salad. Though they are the type of restaurant that serves mainly things like pizza, wings, pasta and calzones; everything is cooked with a Greek twist. They serve traditional Greek dishes like souvlaki, Greek salad, grilled chicken platters, meat platters, and gyro platters. I think this Greek influence is what makes the food taste so good. They deliver to the 27604 - 27609 area codes.
They are open only in the evenings after 5 pm. They stay open until 4 am Sunday through Saturday. Their last delivery is at 3:30 am; so you might want to put in your order between 3:00 and 3:15 am in order to make sure you get your food. Coming from a metropolitan area where I could always get good late night food; moving down here and working nights was pretty hard and I went a few days without eating much at all. But, I found Pizzamerica to be an oasis in my hungry desert.
