Pizza's O Eight

This simply recipe is sure to please a whole boatload of hungry pirates. Perfect for a child's party, or for simple finger foods.

Ingredients/implements

A stick of French or Italian bread
One 12 oz can of pizza sauce/tomato paste
1 lb mozzarella cheese
½ lb thin-sliced pepperoni
Teaspoon
Baking tray, ungreased

Directions:
Cut the bread into rounds, ½ inch thick slices.
Shred the mozzarella cheese.
Open the can of sauce.
Put bread rounds on shallow baking tray.
Spoon 1 tsp sauce on top of each round, spread it to edges.
Liberally cover each round with shredded cheese.
Put 1 slice pepperoni on top.
Bake in 350 F oven for 5 minutes (or until golden)
Remove from heat 'n eat mateys!

Tips:
To save time, have the bread sliced at the store and purchase pre-shredded cheese.
To save money, buy block cheese and shred with your food processor (quick) or cheese grater.

Fun Fact:
Many seagoing pirates became wealthy from raiding ships that transported Spanish dollars (known as "pieces of eight") from the Americas, where the coins were manufactured, to Spain.
