Some Tasty Pizza Pies Here

Neighborhood: Silverdale
Silverdale, WA 98383
United States of America
Silverdale Washington is known as a retail district. Every store imaginable, almost, is located here on the Kitsap Peninsula. It goes without saying that there are some pizzerias here. Some are worth the money while others are not. Let us explore further.

Papa Murphy's. This is a take home and bake it yourself pizzeria. Located in the Albertson's shopping plaza, there is usually ample parking here. The exterior of the store is well maintained. The signage is easy to read from the street, also. The windows have store special signs on them and are clean in appearance.

Once inside this store, the menu board is colorful, easy to read, and items are described in detail. The prices are easy to read, also. The countertop has breadsticks and other smaller prices items on display and ready for purchase. The countertop, in fact, is rather small.

What is nice about this pizzeria, though, is the fact I can watch my pizza being made. I can see how fresh the ingredients are. I also can see the cleanliness and sanitizing procedures that are being followed by the employees. I like that. Pizzas come with cooking instructions, and when the pizza maker hands me my order, I am told of the instructions also.

Pizzas here are very, very affordable. And, the taste cannot be beat. I can always taste the freshness of ingredients used. It is a refreshing taste. I have yet to have a Papa Murphy's pizza that was not good. Advertising campaigns have Papa Murphy's as being rated #1 upon consumers, and I can see why. I highly recommend it. Thumbs up to Papa Murphy's. They rock.

Papa John's. The location in Silverdale is in a shopping complex located on Silverdale Way, near the Bank of America. Papa John's is a typical national franchise pizzeria where they bake the pizza for you. The advertisements I receive in the mail and see on television have the pizza appearing very tempting. After eating three pizzas on separate occasions here (I believe in three strikes and you are out), I am reminded about the marketing class I had in how to make food look appealing. The pizza here is atrocious - both in taste and appearance.

Every single pizza I have had from Papa John's has been extremely skimpy on topping portions. The ingredients were obviously not fresh. The cheese is almost nonexistent, the mushrooms must have been days old, and the meat lovers was a "where's the meat?" kind of deal. The crust had no taste or texture. It reminded me of the pizza crust from the boxed Chef Boy Ar-Dee pizzas. Only, the boxed variety was better. Papa John's should be ashamed of themselves.

On the positive, the delivery pizzas are of correct temperature. The boxes are free of grease (they would have to be...there is no cheese and the crust is like cardboard).

You can order your pizza online, which is a benefit. They offer online specials, which is nice. Be aware, however, that if you use a debit card for payment, Papa John's will withhold more funds than the cost of the pizza for a few days.

Sizes are deceptive. I have ordered large pizzas that were of medium sizes. Prices were for a large pizza, though. In fact, prices are high for the quality delivered. Thumbs down on Papa John's. No, I would give it double thumbs down

The street signage is colorful, large, and easy to read from the road. Inside, is a small order area with a few seats. It is a typical pizza franchise interior. Both inside and out appear clean and appealing.

Papa John's can be reached at 360-662-1300 in Silverdale or online at www.papajohns.com.

Spiro's. This eat-in or carryout pizzeria and Italian restaurant is a good bang for the buck. In fact, every time I have eaten here it has been tasty, fresh, and good quality. The pizzas are out of this world. They sizes are ample, toppings are plentiful, and packaging is attractive. Spiro's makes pizzas other pizzerias need to copy.

Spiro's is located on Bucklin Hill near the Old Town Silverdale area. Parking can be sparse sometimes, though. That is simply a testament to how popular this place is, though.

Prices are comparable to other pizzerias offering sit-down dining. They also offer sub sandwiches and salads that are fantastic. And, the pasta dishes are great, too.

All in all, I highly recommend Spiro's. The only drawback to this place is the fact they do not deliver. Call them at 360-698-4800 in Silverdale. They also have a store in Port Orchard, WA. Visit them online at www.spirospizza.com.

Roundtable Pizza. Located in an L-shaped shopping complex on Randall Way (across from Target), Roundtable Pizza offers tasty pizza. The personal pan pizza is just the right size for lunch. Plus, there is a large salad bar that is reasonably priced.

The menu board here is easy to read, well presented, and colorful to the eyes. The chart with examples of pizza sizes could be more towards the menu board, however. It is currently located off center from the cash register area, and not that easy to see at first.

Every time I have eaten here, I have been pleased. The pizza sizes are ample, the topping portions are ample, and the sauce is delicious. The ingredients are obviously fresh. Plus, I can see my pizza being made, if need be.

For business meetings, this facility offers a meeting room. They even take orders and bring the food to you while you are in the meeting. That is nice.

There is plenty of parking here since the parking lot is shared by many businesses.

The only drawback to this place is the fact that they can be hard to find. They are not located directly on the main drag (Silverdale Way). I have known people to get lost trying to find this place.

All in all, however, I highly recommend Roundtable Pizza. Thumbs up to Roundtable Pizza in Silverdale, Washington.
