Fat Tuesday or Shrove Tuesday is the day before Ash Wednesday which begins Lent season. During Lent season, Christians give up something they enjoy in remembrance of the suffering Jesus Christ endured. Fat Tuesday is the day people can enjoy rich foods before Lent season begins. The Lent season ends on Easter Sunday. This year Fat Tuesday is March 8th.

In Cambridge, Ohio one of the most talked about rich foods during this time of year is paczki. Paczkis are similar to donuts. They are a "deep fried fruit filled donut," according to eHow.com article Mardi Gras Traditional Foods by Eileen Riviera. In Cambridge, Ohio paczkis can be found at Riesbeck's Grocery Store and Kennedy's Bakery.

Another donut style treat people enjoy on Fat Tuesday are beignets. According to "Ideas For Fat Tuesday" by eHow.com writer Mary Johnson-Gerard, beignets are donuts without the holes in the center and are covered with "powdered sugar."

Both Riesbeck's and Kennedy's Bakeries carry a variety of traditional Fat Tuesday pastries. Riesbeck's is located in East Cambridge near the interstate. There are two Kennedy Bakeries in Cambridge, Ohio. The original Kennedy's Bakery is located in downtown Cambridge, Ohio. The other Kennedy's Bakery is located on State Route 209.

People in England and New Orleans celebrate Fat Tuesday by eating pancakes. The Denny's Restaurant located on State Route 209 offers great breakfast deals.

Another great restaurant to enjoy rich foods in Ruby Tuesday. There is a Ruby Tuesday on State Route 209 in Cambridge, Ohio. Ruby Tuesday offers a variety of meals and drinks at descent prices.

Enjoy the 2011 Fat Tuesday celebration safely.
