Halal is the Muslim form of kosher food in its preparation as well as what can and cannot be eaten including other dietary laws. Foods that conform to Islamic dietary laws are known to be Halal. This includes meat from permitted beasts (in general they are animals which graze and with cloven hooves, therefore pig meat is excluded) and birds (except birds of prey).
