Places Online to Find Work at Home and Elsewhere (Even in Today's Economy)
You Can Write, Edit, Be a Proofreader, Provide Customer Service, Take Pictures or Do Data Entry
One website that lists a variety of jobs, with numerous kinds of different work available is www.pcworkathome.net. The Internet is full of testimonials from people who have obtained legitimate work, with no fees ever charged for job seekers from the site. Some of the work pays well. Some does not. At any rate, almost all of the tasks a person would do involve working at home. Most of the jobs do not require a person to live in a certain area. There are some jobs that might require a person to do some work outside of the home or to live in a certain area, however.
Most data entry jobs do not pay well. There is a lot of competition as well, making the jobs harder to get. The jobs do exist, however. There are not as many data entry jobs as there are jobs for those doing transcription. The pay for data entry can be as low as $6 an hour, even for someone who can type as fast as 70 to 80 words as minute, but can be as high as $30 an hour.
Palm Coast Data offers work at home data entry jobs for those living in Palm Coast Florida. Information can be found at: http://www.palmcoastdata.com. If you are an above average typist, you can earn $6 an hour with Keys for Cash, and the website is: http://www.keyforcash.com. You would need to be evaluated before working for the company. You would be paid every week. Working Solutions uses people to do call center and data entry work from home. You can do two to three tasks at a time, if you are able and can earn $7.20 to $30 an hour. It may take you awhile to hear from the company, because they have a waiting list of people anxious to work for it, and agents rarely quit when they have a job with the company The website address is: http://www.workingsol.com.
You can earn more doing general or medical transcription work. You will probably need high speed Internet access. Tigerfish at www.tigerfish.com sometimes even hires those with no experience. The company says it "has been in business since 1989. While we demand the highest quality of work from our transcribers, we are known for friendliness and flexibility concerning their needs. Many transcribers have been with us for more than a decade." You will have to download a free copy of Express Scribe transcription software for testing. If you work for Tigerfish, there will be equipment to buy. Morningside Partners at http://www.fdch.com also hires transcriptionists, copy editors and proofreaders. The company does work for CNN, FOX, and MSNBC.
There is other data entry and transcription work at www.pcworkathome.net.
A variety of companies hire people to do customer service work from home. ABC news at www.abcnews.go.com reported on the work. The news site reported on Alpine Access, Willow CSN and VIPDesk. Alpine Access at http://www.alpineaccess.com/ hires people to serve customers through Web chats, telephone calls, and emails. You will need high speed Internet Access. Willow CSN at http://www.arise.com/ uses people to provide services, including answering calls, providing email support, and chat requests for businesses. VIPDesk at http://www.vipdesk.com has work for Brand Ambassadors at home, serving businesses by taking calls, email, and serving through chat and faxes. There are a variety of other companies that use people for customer service work at home.
If you are a photographer, or just have an interest in taking pictures, a variety of companies buy stock pictures. Shuttershock.com at www.shuttershock.com sells pictures to web designers, magazine editors, and graphic artists. You would be paid 25 cents every time one of your pictures would be downloaded, and once you earn $500, the rate goes to 30 cents. You can download up to 750 images in a month. Big Stock Photo at www.bigstockphoto.com buys photos and pays more than Shuttershock. The company also has stricter standards, however. You can earn a royalty for your pictures of 20% for pictures and 40% for exclusive photos at www.istockphoto.com. You can earn 50 to 65% for each picture the company sells at www.dreamstime.com.
If you want to look online for work outside the house and like people, have you ever wanted to be one of the people demonstrating products at a store? I have done the work myself. I have judged bubble gum blowing contests, handed out food, and demonstrated light bulbs. I have made from $8 an hour to $15 an hour. The $15 an hour was for demonstrating regular and florescent light bulbs--an easy way to earn money, if you ask me. The work can be found at www.narms.com. You will have to register, however. Other work can be found, such as mystery shopping, doing setups in a store, and even in management. You will be asked to fill out a profile, but even if you think you have no relevant experience, you actually may. You may have never done demonstrations, but have you ever worked with people in a grocery or department store?
here are enough other people to write stories about where to make money writing, and I wrote one myself. If you like writing, however, did you ever consider editing work, or being a proofreader? At Edit Fast at www.editfast.com you can earn money if you are a skilled proofreader. Passing their test does not guarantee work, but when work is available, you can earn 80% of the fees for any work done, with the company receiving 20%. At Word Firm at http://www.wordfirm.com, there is a need for writers, editors, copyeditors, proofreaders, and indexers. Writing Assistance Incorporated needs technical writers, copywriters, web content, and web graphic designers. The website is http://www.writingassist.com. You can apply at sales at sales@writingassist.com.
This article has covered only some of the work you can find online. A lot of other work is available for those who are interested.
