Places to Take Mom on Mother's Day in the Southern New Jersey / Philadelphia Area

Mother's Day is a special time to honor that special mom, mother in-law, grandmother, step mom, or person that is like a mom to you. These women have played a special role in your life and they really deserve a nice day dedicated just to them.

In my opinion, gifts are wonderful, but spending time with the ones you love is much more priceless. I'd rather have memories any day of the week over materialistic things that I will outgrow, break, or lose. This quaint little place is the perfect place to take mom for lunch. Located on Kings Highway in Haddonfield, NJ, you can take your pick from several teas and other drinks, and a variety of food choices, from salads to croissant sandwiches. Of all the teas rooms I've been to, they offer the biggest dishes and the fresh foods.

Waterfront Buffet at Harrah's Casino, Atlantic City, NJ
Filled with hundreds of choices, this is a great place to take mom if she likes fancier fare. Although their menu changes regularly, there is usually a steady stream of seafood for mom to pick. Cold shrimp, sushi, mussels, clams, crab legs, crab cakes, and fresh salmon carved and served by a chef, are just some of the tasty things things that I had when I was there. And if mom isn't a seafood fan, there is always Asian fare, and plenty of carved meats. The salad bar is a delight as well. Mom can choose what she'd like and they'll chop up everything real fun and mix it well for you.

The Philadelphia Art Museum, Philadelphia, PA
Since South Jersey is only about 10-20 minutes from Philadelphia, depending on where you live, why not cross the bridge and take mom to The Philadelphia Art Museum? There are plenty of art exhibits to stroll through with mom on Mother's Day, along with an enormous gift shop, a cafe, and a walking path behind the Museum for taking a stroll with your mother after you see the beautiful works of art.
