Plan a Backpacking Trip and Travel for Free

Have you ever done a backpacking trip? They can be a lot of fun, especially when you do it with one of your close friends. But do you know what can make it even better? When all your expenses including food and possible lodging are all paid for!

Just imagine that: having a fun and memorable experience, perhaps in some country abroad like beautiful France or exotic New Zealand. You an your best friend, young or old, tasting the delicious foods at not cost to you, from those different cultures. And what's more, having comfortable and free lodging when the sun sets, and then waking up the next day to do it all over again! Right about now, you may be asking how.

Here's how: Get together everything about your trip like the route, etc. and then recruit people who will pay your way! One way you can do this is simply by advertising your trip and your intentions in backpacking magazines. In your advertisement, tell about how you want to take a group of people (or you alone) on a wonderful trek through exotic places (and then be specific).

What's so great about that is that people who hear about your intentions are going to want to help you, and want you to send the trek their way - possibly providing lodging and good breakfast to send you on your way the next day!

If you decide to take a group with you, they can share in the expenses as well. If you are leading this entire venture, you can state a price upfront that can help to cover your own - leaving you with a free ticket to this venture.

A good way to get started is to request some literature on backpacking (and possibly advertise in them). Check out a company called Backroads at www.backroads.com, as well as another company that offers every kind of trip including African safaris and whitewater rafting tours - www.mtsobek.com. Of course, there are endless other companies and opportunities as well, so do your research. The Internet is always a great platform.

Just make sure to always count the cost (yours and anyone who may be joining you). This includes when it comes to personal health needs (backpacking can be rather grueling - consider you will be doing an average of 8 or 9 miles a day), possible expenses that may pop up, and whether you have all the equipment you really need for such a journey. Plan well in advance!
